Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to TaxEdge (“we,” “our,” “us”). TaxEdge provides accounting, taxation, and business compliance services to individuals and organizations (“you,” “your,” or “Client”). By using our website [www.taxedge.com ], creating an account, or availing of any services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). These Terms comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), and other applicable Indian laws.

2. Definitions (as per DPDP Act)

  • Personal Data: Any data about an individual who can be identified by or in relation to such data.

  • Data Fiduciary: TaxEdge — as the entity that determines the purpose and means of processing your data.

  • Data Principal: You, the individual to whom the personal data relates.

  • Processing: Any operation performed on personal data, such as collection, storage, use, or disclosure.

3. Consent & Lawful Processing

  • TaxEdge collects and processes personal data only with your explicit consent, which is obtained when you register, upload documents, or request our services.

  • Your consent is free, specific, informed, unconditional, and unambiguous as per the DPDP Act.

  • You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to support@taxedge.com , subject to legal or contractual requirements for retention. Withdrawal of consent may affect the delivery of services.

  • TaxEdge will not process your personal data for purposes other than those specified at the time of collection, except where required by law or authorized by you.

4. Information We Collect

TaxEdge collects data strictly necessary for service delivery and legal compliance, including:

  • Identification details (name, contact, address, PAN, GSTIN, etc.)

  • Business and financial documents (invoices, statements, certificates)

  • Login credentials (for the TaxEdge portal)

  • Limited technical data (IP address, browser type, session logs)

  • We do not collect unnecessary data, and we do not use your data for analytics, marketing, or behavioral profiling.

5. Purpose of Data Use

Your data is used strictly to:

  • Provide accounting, tax, and compliance services

  • Prepare, submit, and maintain government filings

  • Communicate with you for service-related matters

  • Fulfill legal and regulatory obligations (e.g., tax authority audits)

  • Maintain internal records and prevent fraud TaxEdge does not process personal data for improving its services or for advertising purposes.

6. Accuracy and Client Responsibility

  • You are solely responsible for ensuring all data and documents shared with TaxEdge are true, accurate, and complete.

  • If you intentionally hide, alter, or misrepresent information to avoid taxes or mislead authorities, you will be fully liable for any resulting penalties, fines, or legal consequences.

  • TaxEdge may, at its discretion, suspend or terminate your account if it suspects fraudulent or misleading information.

  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TaxEdge, its officers, and employees for any claim, penalty, or cost arising from your misrepresentation or omission of material facts.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

  • TaxEdge retains your data only for as long as necessary to: Provide services under your engagement, Comply with legal or regulatory record-keeping obligations (e.g., tax law requirements), or Respond to lawful requests from authorities.

  • Once the retention period expires, data will be securely deleted, anonymized, or archived in accordance with Section 9 of the DPDP Act.

  • You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to legal retention obligations.

8. Data Security

  • TaxEdge implements reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including: End-to-end encryption for data transmission, Secure login authentication, Access control for internal staff, and Regular system audits and backups.

  • While we strive for best-in-class protection, no electronic storage system is 100% secure. TaxEdge is not liable for breaches beyond its reasonable control (e.g., cyberattacks, third-party infrastructure failures).

9. Disclosure of Data

We may disclose information:

  • To tax, regulatory, or governmental authorities when legally required;

  • To courts or law-enforcement agencies under lawful order;

  • To internal staff and vetted service providers bound by confidentiality;

  • To auditors or consultants engaged under NDAs for lawful processing.

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade client data to any third party.

10. Client Misrepresentation & Suspension of Services

  • TaxEdge relies entirely on the accuracy of client-supplied data.

  • If we reasonably suspect falsification or concealment of material facts, we may:

    • Refuse or suspend services;

    • Retain or terminate the engagement;

    • Report the matter to relevant authorities;

    • Recover all costs incurred due to your misrepresentation.

  • All fees paid remain non-refundable where suspension or termination results from client misconduct.

11. Indemnity & Limitation of Liability

  • You shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TaxEdge and its affiliates from all claims, penalties, costs, or losses arising from: Misrepresentation or concealment of information; Violation of applicable laws; Government penalties caused by inaccurate data.

  • TaxEdge’s liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount of professional fees paid for the specific service giving rise to such claim.

12. Data Principal Rights (under DPDP Act)

As a Data Principal, you have the right to:

  • Access: obtain confirmation whether your data is being processed;

  • Correction/Deletion: correct or request deletion of inaccurate data;

  • Grievance Redressal: contact our Data Protection Officer for complaints;

  • Nominate: appoint a nominee to exercise rights in case of incapacity or death.

  • Requests can be made by writing to privacy@taxedge.co.in . We will respond within the statutory period.

13. Grievance Redressal Mechanism

  • If unsatisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India under Section 33 of the DPDP Act.

14. Intellectual Property

All content on taxedge.co.in or deliverables / services / documents or anything provideed — logos, text, graphics, code, and design — is owned or licensed by TaxEdge. No content may be copied or reproduced without prior written consent.

15. Termination of Services

TaxEdge may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the platform, or engage in unlawful activity. Upon termination, retained data will be handled as per our Privacy Policy and DPDP Act obligations.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at [Insert City, e.g., Mumbai / Delhi / Bengaluru], India.

17. Amendments

We may modify these Terms to reflect legal or operational changes.

Updated versions will appear on www.taxedge.co.in/terms with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use after such update constitutes acceptance.

19. Client Acknowledgment

By using taxedge.co.in, you acknowledge that you:

  • Have read and understood these Terms & Conditions;

  • Provide data truthfully and voluntarily;

  • Understand that concealment or misrepresentation of information is unlawful;

  • Consent to data processing strictly in accordance with the DPDP Act and these Terms.
